Pechedete's Review:
Adam falls for his college roommate, Jesse Jefferson, and falls hard. The problem is that Jesse’s straight and has a girlfriend back home that he plans to marry. Although Jesse knows that Adam is gay, Jesse begins to engage in behavior that leads Adam to believe that Jesse’s not as straight as he professes to be. The resulting aftermath of dare at a party ends up with Jesse and Adam starting a relationship, even though Jesse is still involved with Anne. When push comes to shove will Jesse step out of the closet and claim Adam as his own or will he continue to live the life everyone expects of him and stay with Anne?

Strap on your seatbelt and hold on to the handlebars as you take a ride on the emotional rollercoaster known as A Life Without You. This book is a sweet romance chocked full of angst and drama. A Life Without You made me laugh and cry and laugh some more and I loved every second of it! No matter how much I wanted to dislike Jesse because of his selfish behavior and the turmoil he caused Adam, I just couldn’t. I was as drawn to him as I was to Adam. Erica Pike forced me to love Jesse and be understanding of his decisions. It helped that Adam’s obsessively blind devotion was tempered by Eric’s, Adam’s good friend, determination to save Adam from the abyss. Not only did Ms. Pike write strong main characters, but she included equally strong and likeable secondary characters like Eric and Jazz, who helped balance the story.

A Life Without You is one of those books that is hard to put down and you want to read straight through without interruption. It definitely has a place on my keeper shelf and should find a spot on yours as well. A Life Without You is the first book in the Boston Boys series and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Pike has in store for the other guys introduced in this story.

Pechedete's Review:
Adrian Grey has been in love with Val Michaels since they were roommates in college. Val broke Adrian’s heart when the day after the only time they had sex Val comes home and tells Adrian he’s in love with someone else. This begins a pattern of Adrian suffering through all the gory details of Val’s failed relationships. But it will be worth if Adrian wins the game of patience and can wait for Val to grow up and realize the only man he needs is the man that’s been there for him for the last ten years.

I loved Adrian! There was more to the mild mannered librarian than what met the eye. I thoroughly enjoyed watching all of his multiple layers being uncovered. There was just an abundance of alpha goodness wrapped in a geeky package. However, I didn’t particularly care for Val. To me, he came across as shallow and selfish. Although Val has known Adrian for ten years, he never took the time to get to know him. He kept Adrian around because he was reliable and dependable, but never bothered to ask why he wouldn’t upgrade all the old and outdated things in his life. If he had, Val would have fallen for Adrian a lot sooner.

The Librarian is a credit to Lee Brazil’s writing talent. Even though I had a serious dislike for Val, Adrian and story in general were so well written that my bad feelings for a main character did not impede my overall enjoyment of this tale. I encourage you to pick up a copy of The Librarian to judge for yourself.

Helios Dayspring and Griffin Hawke are settling in to their new roles on Neo Domus. While Lio's memories haven’t returned,some things are coming back due to the amount of practice he received while training to be a priest. Not everyone is happy that Lio has returned and, due to his faulty memory, he’s not sure who he can trust. This begins to cause problems with Griffin because he knows that Lio’s keeping things from him; he just can’t figure out why.

I loved learning more about Astrum as well as the cast of characters introduced in An Uncommon Whore. Ms. McBride explained more about the invasion of Arash and the vulnerability of both the Astrums and Talisians face on Neo Domus. While I enjoyed the interactions between Lio and Griffin, it was the secondary characters such as Carlotta, Raven, and Caius that made When I Fall work for me. The introduction of the new races and the unanswered questions appear to be the perfect setup for a third book in this series, which I hope Ms. McBride will write.

When I Fall is the second book in the Uncommon Whore series and is a solid read. There is enough back story that it can be read alone. However, I would suggest that you read An Uncommon Whore as it is simply a captivating story.

Review:
Donald Gleason shows up for his three o’clock nanny interview and is met by chaos.  Jeff Roberts is struggling with being a full time dad to three-year-old Robin and three-month-old Kimberly.  Their mother is recently deceased and his partner walked out on him because he didn’t want to be a parent.  He needs help, but hiring a male nanny isn’t exactly what he had in mind.  However, Donny passes his trial by fire with flying colors.  Jeff is comfortable letting Donny take care of his kids, now he just has to fight his growing attraction for the younger man.
Daddy, Daddy & Me was a great story filled with all the things I love – well written characters, a despicable villain, and a fluid romance.  The relationship between Jeff and Donny didn’t feel rushed; it flowed naturally even though they got together very quickly.  The only thing I didn’t like was Jeff’s reaction to an unexpected loss, but Donny helped him see what was truly important.  I couldn’t help but to love these guys together and enjoyed the ease in which Donny stepped into the lives of Jeff and the children.
Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of M/M nanny stories and loving them and Sean Michaels’ Daddy, Daddy & Me did not disappoint.  This was the first story by Mr. Michaels that I’ve read and I wouldn’t hesitate to read more of his work.
