Cody Alvarez is desperate to keep his uncles ranch. If he isn’t engaged by the end of the year then the ranch will be sold per his uncles will. His uncle passed away a bachelor, and he wants his ranch’s legacy to be filled with family and love. It has been eight months and Cody has been too busy to find his future wife. Now he will just settle for a woman he can talk to and is decent in bed. This ranch is his life and he isn’t going to lose it.
Olive “Libby” Morris has never been happy in her own skin. After a windfall she works hard, drops a few pounds and decides to change her life. After a friend had a perfect experience using Madame Evangeline‘s 1Night Stand services, Libby decides she wants more excitement in her life. She takes a chance and signs up for her own experience. She didn’t expect to be shipped away to an exclusive 1Night Stand Christmas Week at an undisclosed location.
I loved their instant attraction. The electricity could almost be seen shooting between the two of them from the first moment they touch. Since they didn’t know who they were scheduled to meet, they chose not to pursue their feelings. Three long agonizing days into their week long visit neither are closer to meeting their intended dates. After a chance meeting, they decide to spend some time together while they wait for further news on their one night stands.
I enjoyed Ms. Holt’s take in this series. While we knew they were the couple that was meant to be, she took us on a journey on how they were going to get there. Once they discovered they were each other intended, they didn’t waste any time with their amazing passion. Their one night stand was sizzling hot and I adored how Cody cherished and loved Libby. Any woman would be lucky to have such a man in her life.
If you want a quick read that has heart, feelings and steamy sex, then He Came Upon a Midnight Clear would be a perfect pick.
