Unexpected surprises and four very special carnal adventures lie in wait for four sets of lovers on Valentine's day. These four short novels will make you laugh, cry, smolder, and send you running for a cold shower. In the first novel, "Bachelorette" by Em Petrova, a spirited woman is deserted by her fiance on the very day her wedding was to take place, but five delectable Frenchmen have a plan to comfort her out of her Valentine's Day blues - and bridal garments. In the second novel, "Only When I Lose Myself" by Michael Mandrake, Adrian is in need of someone to be his special Valentine and discovers that in janitor, Matthew Gianopolis, a janitor with superior intelligence but poor social skills, he has found it. In the third, "My Valentine Prince" by Ike Rose, a blue-collar college educated hunk who fought class prejudices to raise up the corporate ladder must choose which of two men is to be his Prince Charming: his rich ex-boss boyfriend, or the sailor who gave up his career to love him forever. In the fourth, "Cupid’s Arrow" by Daisy Harris, the god Cupid swears off love, but when a girl he shoots doesn't swoon as expected, he learns that to woo her he'll have to break his rule and fall in love with her himself.
Review:
This erotic anthology based around the holiday for lovers is an exceptional compilation of writers. The first novel “The Bachelorette” has Kiki being broken-hearted, practically left at the alter and hiding out in a flat/loft in Paris. Her only companions are her dog Capote (dressed in a fancy tutu) and her father's assistant and Kiki's childhood friend, Olivier. That is, until Olivier and his French friends decide to help Kiki forget the holiday and her wedding, and concentrate on her needs and desires. Petrova does an excellent job of building the characters, adding humor and really hits the mark with the sex scenes.
Michael Mandrake's “Only When I Lose Myself”, has Adrian wanting a special person to be his on Valentine's Day. Adrian finds his man in Matthew, a janitor with low social skills. Adrian's friends who are trying to find him a new love interest find Matthew a step below their social level and this bothers Adrian as well as Matthew's first few encounters with the magnificent Adrian. Mandrake produces some of the most well written characters in this erotic novel.
In “My Valentine Prince” Ike Rose creates a fabulous holiday love story between James Harahan and Max Murphy...or is it Paul van-Beekman? Jim, the local bad boy that everyone thinks is bad news, proves people wrong in between his sexual escapades with his lovers. Rose is very descriptive in his writing style and offers a delicious tale in this erotic novel. But the main question is, who will Jim pick? Max? Or Paul?
Cupid Zaleski (love that name) has declared no love in his life. But he's not the best “Cupid” when he somehow misses his mark for lovelorn Cassidy. The only way to make up for his “shooting” error is to make Cassidy fall in love...with him. The humor in this erotic novel is unbelievable. Daisy Harris made me chuckle more than I could count with the antics of this duo.
I recommend this erotic anthology even in the off holiday season.
