Gwyneth Carswell, an English lady banished by her father to the harsh Scottish Highlands, wants nothing more than to take her young son away from the violence of two fighting clans--her own distant kin, the MacIrwins, and their enemies, the MacGraths. She risks everything to rescue the fierce MacGrath warrior from the battlefield where he’s left for dead by her clan. She only knows she is inexplicably drawn to him and he wants peace as she does. When her clan learns of her betrayal, they seek vengeance. Dare she trust the enemy more than her own family?

Laird Alasdair MacGrath is driven to end two-hundred years of feuding with the MacIrwins. But by taking in and protecting Lady Gwyneth and her son, he provokes more attacks from his mortal enemy. As the danger and conflict surrounding them escalate, Alasdair and Gwyneth discover an explosive passion neither of them expected. With the arrival of a powerful man from her past, a horrible decision confronts her--give up her son or the man she loves.

Review:
What a refreshing change from the norm!

Gwyneth Carswell is one of the most independent historical women I have ever read about. She was fierce in her own right. Due to an unfortunate scandal, she is sent to the Scotland Highlands by her father. She was born and breed as a lady, but she blossomed into an amazing strong, protective and productive woman. Gwyneth takes her responsibility as a mother seriously and refuses to become a dithering love struck lass. She is a modern woman in 1618, a true gem.

Laird Alasdair MacGrath is pure heaven. When I sit back and fantasize what MY highlander looks like, I see Alasdair. Dark haired, tall and a body built from battle. That’s not all though, he is confident, smart, witty, charming, protective, kind and extremely passionate. He is a dream come true, but an unrealistic dream that Gwyneth believes she can never have.

My Fierce Highlander is a story that grabs you and won’t let go. It draws you in, pulling you up a hill of sexual tension and building suspense, then cresting the peak for a beautiful descent into the world of love and passion.

Gwyneth and Alasdair is a perfectly matched couple. The couple’s troubles, obstacles and victories all seemed real and ideal. Ms. Sinclair did a fabulous job writing a well balanced and enjoyable book. The story had just enough descriptions of the land and its people to enhance the story without bogging down the storyline. The action was intense and the love scenes were sultry.

The other characters truly enhanced the enjoyment of the story. Rory, Gwyneth’s son, was adorable and such a wonderful addition to the story. He kept the plot grounded and real. I absolutely adored Alasdair’s brother, Lachlan. He kept me chuckling and shaking my head at him throughout the book. He is a perfect scoundrel. He will be a great story to read about in the next book. I can’t wait.

This is superb historical romance that will keep you up late and engaged. My Fierce Highlander will be a keeper on my shelf.

Charles Pryce is sinfully sexy. Women fall at his feet, literally. He really knows how to treat a woman, but then he should-he's been around. For over four hundred years! When he meets Samantha, he falls in love for the first time in centuries. He sets about seducing her, and they are blissfully happy until evil Vamp Viktor rears his ugly head. Charles is desperate to win Samantha's heart. He wants her for all eternity, but will she still want him when she discovers his dark secret?

Review:
Charles Pryce has been lonely for a very long time when in walks Samantha. She sassy’s her way up to Charles and they flirt for a few minutes and she leaves. Charles falls in love on the spot. At work Samantha starts getting flowers and after a few days she calls Charles and they meet for dinner. They hit if off and start spending some hot romantic nights together. They can not get enough of each other. Viktor shows up trying to see Charles when he is snubbed. This does not set well with Viktor and plots to get even. He is responsible for turning Charles and he is the Sire. Charles has to save Samantha before Viktor can hurt her.

The characters are well done. Charles and Samantha click and are as one. Their romance is exquisite. Viktor even is a bit likable for a few minutes. He is the villain and like all villains he is liked at one point and hated the next. I loved the setting in England as well.

If you like romance, vampires, suspense then this is the read for you.

Two cops who’ve lost their partners in the line of duty and life are both lonely but hesitant about beginning a relationship with someone new. Will one of them accept the others proposition to start over or remain alone because of their places on the police force?

Review:
This is the first writing of Mandrake that I've read and I must admit, I was pleased with what he had to offer. Mandrake kept the story/plot flowing at a fast-paced rate. The emotions, feelings and hesitation felt between Farris and Daniel can be felt in every scene. From Farris losing a precious partner/lover to Daniel's wavering of having a relationship with Farris, Mandrake develops a nice repertoire between the men. The dialogue, while slow at first, did expand to express both mens' feelings.

This quick read is recommended for someone who wants to get promptly lost for a moment with a happily ever after ending.

Fired from the job she so desperately needs, Andy Jones is shocked to find a wallet stuffed full of cash. It belongs to none other than Alexander Ioannou, millionaire extraordinaire, and the man responsible for her firing.

Alexander comes looking for the woman he suspects of misappropriating not only his funds, but his grandmother's ring. He's shocked to find it's the woman who has been haunting his dreams.

Rather than turn her in, Alexander thinks of more interesting ways for Andy to pay back her debt.

Review:
Emma Shortt has the basis of a great story here with the wallet being accidentally landed in Andy's purse to the weave of entanglements of Andy's debts (her devotion to pay them off is pure dedication). The story flowed easily in the beginning and halfway through I was ready for Andy and Alex to get together and show each other the true meaning of love, passion and commitment.

Shortt has a definite charming way of telling a story. While I would have loved to seen the story speed up a tad in the middle, the way Shortt developed the characters was superb, delving into their personal issues and making me (the reader) root for their relationship. Beautifully written, I would recommend this novel to romance readers or someone looking to get lost in an afternoon.

Jessica Brown has to save her failing company, Dreams for Your Future Advertising, and she only has one shot to take to get the job done. Delicious Foods has tapped Jessica's small company for a campaign for the hottest selling condiment in America, Peach Bliss. The trouble? Jessica hates the sticky mess and has no slogan. In fact, she could care less about the whole campaign.

Eric Gammon looks more like a sculpted God and less like the maintenance guy at Jessica's building, which means he's drop gorgeous but totally off limits. Isn't he?

Forgetting all rational thought, Jessica garners a wicked idea. She propositions Eric and he gladly agrees to let her experiment with him and find out first hand exactly what the dazzling syrup, this Peach Bliss, can be used for. Re-energized and hopeful, Jessica tackles the Delicious Foods account with flair and everything goes smoothly until Jessica learns that Eric’s ex, Stella, is none other than a top executive at Delicious Foods.

Undaunted, Jessica is more than ready to deliver her presentation, which involves an overheated room, some melting ice cream and a bit of the bubbly. That is until she realizes Eric lied to her and is going back to Stella.

Now that Jessica's won the contract, has she lost the love of her life?

Review:
The 'dream' sequence in the first few paragraphs had me wanting more immediately in Cassandre Dayne's Breakfast Eye Candy. Having read numerous of Dayne's creative writings, I was ready for a quick jump into the plot and Dayne didn't disappoint when it comes to the sexual aspect of her novel.

While I would have liked to have seen Dayne add more emphasis to the actual plot of the story, I would recommend this book to lovers of erotic romance. She did add more depth to Eric's storyline but she left Jessica's wayward and centering around only sex. There's nothing wrong with this, but I was expecting more substance from Dayne with this novel.

I have to admit Dayne adds great dialogue, sexual activity scenes and descriptive moments between Eric and Jessica and the quick, fast paced novel held my interest from start to finish. Kudos to Dayne for Breakfast Eye Candy.

Anna Carrington is no longer a child, but a marriageable young woman who has loved the Duke of Fairmount for years. She has kept her love for him well hidden, sure that even if, by some miracle, he did return her feelings, his dedication to propriety would never allow him to marry his ward.

Jared St. James is known for his strict adherence to the rules of society and respectability, even though he finds himself lusting after Anna. Having struggled against his desire to his young ward, he decides the only way to right the situation is to marry her off, but will she accept the man he has chosen for her or stake claim to her innocence?

Review:
A Duke’s Desire by Liz Cole was a great read from Breathless Press and a wonderful quick historical romance by Liz Cole. I believe this is the first book I’ve read by Liz Cole and I’ll be picking or finding another one very soon.

I love romances with an age gap and I loved watching the hero in this story lead but also crumble and succumb to the love and heat of the heroine. As it is a short read, the story line moves quickly and that is why I gave it 4 cups rather than the 5.

I felt it could have been longer. I’m a greedy reader and would have loved to have seen the build up a little more, which is described in the first few chapters. However, I recommend this as it is perfect for a quick fun, sexy read.

A year after his husband is killed in a hit and run, the only thing keeping Parker Adams going is his work and their son, Nate. When his regular child minder moves away, he hires a live in nanny to give Nate more stability. Due to a mix up with the envelopes, it isn't the petite Melanie that turns up on his doorstep. Opening the door and finding six feet six of Jake Walsh on the stoop fills Parker with panic. Not that Jake wasn't perfect for the job; he was. A little too perfect, with his dark brown eyes and easy going nature. Which is why Parker had purposely decided to give the job to the other candidate. In the half an hour of his interview, Jake Walsh had awoken feelings in Parker that he had thought were gone forever. How was he going to cope with the man under his roof twenty-four-seven?

Review:
This was an extremely fast-paced read, despite it being 120 pages. Lisa Worrall had me hooked from the moment little Nate couldn't sleep from a bad dream. * sigh* What's not to love about a precocious little boy who is scared.

While it was a quick read (most novellas are), I wish Worrall would have developed the relationship between Parker Adams and Jake Walsh just a tad bit more. She had me swept under with their moving romance and tenderness, but I would've loved to have seen their interaction more intense; however, I give her two-thumbs up for keeping the past and memories alive with Nate and Parker and for writing a realistic plot that kept me enthralled from start to finish.

This was a nice heartwarming romance tale between the two men but the added scenarios with Nate made the story enjoyable. Worrall has a sensuous writing style that I have come to appreciate and savor. This is a definite must-read for all lovers of romance, tender and erotic.

Hayden Berry is lost in a small South Dakota town after crashing his car, when he is rescued by Deputy Sheriff Dylan Hubble and taken home for the night. One night turns into two when they are snowed in and instant attraction turns into life-long love.

But Hayden isn't free to be with Dylan and he leaves, the memory of that winter casting a shadow over the rest of his life.

Review:
Scarlet Blackwell interweaves two men's lives perfectly in this winter classic. The way she adds the twist of Hayden being married to a woman, was a nice change of pace for an erotic M/M novella. I commend Blackwell for permitting a possible one-night (actually two nights) stand to evolve into a real relationship of love and trust.

When Hayden returns to his wife, his thoughts are with Dylan and Blackwell lets the emotions of Hayden show, in a very compassionate and realistic way. The breaking of the heart and lies strewn about are believable and heart-wrenching to the reader.

This was the first Blackwell novel I've read but will NOT be the last. I applaud Blackwell's writing style, dialogue and character strengths. She is definitely an author on her way up in the publishing world.

Tony Dartanion kept his private life hidden from the majority of the world. A decorated detective in the grittiest precinct in Philadelphia, Tony was hungry to make Captain and willing to do almost anything to get the title. Unfortunately however, the precinct had a "don't ask, don't tell" policy that enraged Tony and forced him to hide for years. In fact, his brothers in blue believe Tony's a card-carrying member of the chasing skirts and stilettos club. But the truth is, Tony's in love with a man he barely acknowledges outside the bedroom.

Tony knew his lover, Caelen Tomlin, was tired of being a dirty little secret. In the beginning, he and Caelen savored a highly erotic relationship and now, if Tony were being honest, they were barely more than friends. Realizing he was going to lose the golden haired model he adored if he didn't change his ways, Tony planned an event to remind Caelen exactly why they were together. With Tony determined to change his ways and meet Caelen's every need, who could have thought Caelen would refuse the invitation and that his actions would force Tony to make an excruciating choice?

Review:
Tony and Caelen have been a couple for some time now but Caelen is tired of hiding. He realizes Tony’s need for discretion but can no longer be the hidden secret. When Tony discovers this he decides that he will do anything to save their relationship and anything is just what he does. Tony takes them to a wonderful night at the club called Sealed with A Kiss, a club where anything goes. Will Tony’s attempt to rekindle the love and lust that they once had or will Caelen walk away?

Not only is this story a hot read but you are also treated to a romance. Tony and Caelen love each other very much and it shows in everything that they do and share together. Tony is a strong man who is willing to do anything for Caelen. The two are a wonderful couple, so devoted to each other. It was nice to see just how far Tony would go to show Caelen the depth of his love.

While this story has a good plot and hot scenes I had a hard time connecting to the characters making it hard for me to immerse myself into the story. I think that a little more character development would have helped me enjoy the story a bit more. Even with this I still enjoyed this authors writing style and will look for more stories in the future that may catch my eye.

Secret Love, by Fiona McGier

Sheena has spent the last twelve years working for a government agency so secret that she didn't even learn what it was called for a year. She enjoys the work, but is getting bored. She tries her usual cure: a new man. But something about this one is different...and she develops feelings. In her world, even having feelings is dangerous. Indulging them by falling in love can be deadly.

Review:
My rating for Secret Love is more of a 3.5 Cups.

Destiny has a way of bringing two people together. Sheena Nelsen and Hickory Woods couldn’t be from more different worlds. Hers is a world of darkness, lies and secrets. His is flashy, public and surrounded by paparazzi.

No one really knows Sheena. Most don’t even know her real name or face. She is a spy. Her agency is so secret, the government barely knows about it. On a bit of a break between assignments, Sheena is in Berlin. Settling down for a little R&R, she is looking for one thing; a man to entertain her during her break. In walks tall, dark and handsome. A challenge she is ready to tackle. She has been bored for a while and he is just the diversion that she needs.

Hickory’s life changed dramatically two years ago by the loss of his wife and child. He was living the high life full of women and fame when his pregnant wife was killed in an auto accident. An accident he very well could have saved her from. With his Native American good looks he has taken the world of Hollywood by storm. A highly sought after action movie star. The world is at his feet, but he is a lonely man. Now after two years, he is beginning to live life again and his body is telling him that he needs to get a lot closer to a certain redhead.

Secret Love is a universal romance. I don’t mean that in a bad way either. The underbelly of this book is that the heroine is a deadly international spy, but the mystery, suspense and action doesn’t play a factor in this book. It is 100% pure romance. There was a touch of action in the book, but it was pretty standard and I felt downplayed. Yes, there is a villain but you know who he is and what he has planned, no surprises. I was on the edge of my seat as to when and where he would strike though.

While the story was fun and sweet, I kept hoping Ms. McGier would step out of her comfort zone and delve into the gripping world of intrigue. She can write a great love story, but I kept waiting for her to mix it up a bit. This series does have great promise. I am not a lover of the suspense/mystery genre per se, but I can see with Ms. McGier’s skill as a romance author and the prospect of a superlative secret spy agency, she could really spice things up and have an exceptional series. With her aptitude for sultry love scenes and character interaction she is a must read for me. I’m looking forward to her next novel in the series, Undercover Lover.

For Ash may be the only man whose own fantasies are a match for hers, but can she knowingly steal his affections from her best friend?

Review:
The Hand He Dealt is the debut novel for Tanith Davenport and can I say it was an absolutely fantastic read. In fact, I had to put everything around me on hold while I read this book.

I loved the storyline and the characters were well developed. I found myself falling for Ash and Astra and the way Miss Davenport brings these two unlikely people together is superb.

A book filled with beautiful romance, struggles, intense sexual tension as well as some brilliant pegging scenes.

This is a highly recommended, must read, one I will be reading again and soon. The Hand He Dealt has reminded me of the why I love reading new authors and I hope this is not the last we hear of Tanith Davenport.

Can Canyon and Simon set aside their fears and their pasts to see what lies between them, or will they miss out on their happily ever after?

When Canyon's ex-lover, Robert, dies, he leaves behind a last request that Canyon take word of his passing to Simon, an old friend on the east coast. Canyon reluctantly agrees, and soon finds himself falling for Simon, despite the nagging belief he shouldn't. Canyon is plagued by guilt over his part in the accident that claimed Robert's life. But Simon knows something Canyon doesn't: Robert's death wasn't an accident, but a suicide, and Robert's intent was for the two men he left behind to come together. But Robert's plan didn't account for two things: Simon's disbelief that anyone can truly love a soon-to-be-cripple, and Canyon's staunch decision that the next man he gives himself to will give him a wedding ring first. Can Canyon and Simon set aside their own issues long enough to see what lies between them, or will they both miss out on their happily ever after?

Review:
DC Juris' premises for Who Better than Canyon is perfect. Two ex-lovers of one man meet after the man passes away. Even on his deathbed the man knows these two are perfect for each other. Juris captures both Canyon and Simon's emotions perfectly, from when Canyon throws Robert's left behind belongings out for the garbage pickup but when he hears thunder, he can't live with himself if his lover's items got wet so he retrieves the items, to how Simon wants to show Canyon how to love the sea. Emotions are felt and revealed.

Juris moved the story a little too quickly without allowing the two men's relationships and love to blossom. Although I do love Juris' writing style, and the dialogue and individual character development is superb, I would have loved to have seen Canyon and Simon's relationship develop more fully. I do applaud Juris for this novel. Her creativity is seen and I looked forward to reading more of her work.

Miguel’s first love, his high school sweetheart, was the woman he wanted to marry…because they belonged together. But she had a different kind of future in mind and left for college, leaving him and his broken heart behind. 20 years later he saw her at their high school reunion. Will he walk away this time? Or is it still meant to be? And what will his family think?

Review:
This installment of the Reyes Family Romance was a sweet endearing love story.

The Reyes family has a history of falling in love and staying in love. This story really proved that theory. Love Therapy is a testament to true everlasting love.

Miguel Reyes is a man looking for his true love. Unfortunately he’s looking for her in feisty independent women who have no interest of settling down. As his twentieth class reunion looms he reflects on his lack of love life and family. He had it once, but lost it twenty years ago.

Alicia Torres stole and broke Miguel’s heart, not once but twice. She moved on and started a career in nursing miles away from her home town. She runs from him because of her past. She has no desire to relive the life of her mother. Fear makes her run, but regret makes her return. She attends her class reunion with one hope in mind…reconnecting with her one and only true love, Miguel.

What can I say about this story? It was a romance through and through. No real evil plots or dastardly deeds. Love Therapy was just heartfelt romance and the proof that love can endure all, even time and separation.

You can’t help but fall in love with Miguel and Alicia. It is actually heartbreaking that they lost so many years and opportunities because of misconceptions and untruths. If I had a complaint about the book it would be all the sugar sweet talking. I may have to go to the dentist after reading this story. Boy, those two were the most enamored, kissy-kissy characters I have ever come across. Though in all fairness, Miguel has loved her most his life and he finally has her and Alicia has past pain and a terrible childhood to overcome. They truly both deserve their happiness.

While reading Love Therapy I was fascinated by Alicia’s sister, Gabriela, and Miguel’s brother, Pablo. They knew each other when they were younger and their possible future could be an exciting addition. Gabriela, the ugly duckling turned beautiful swan and Pablo, the forever bachelor. My fingers are crossed that I get to enjoy their story. I have a feeling it will be spectacular.

Love Therapy is a fantastic addition to the series. Ms. McGier has continuously written enjoyable and well developed story lines. I have been captivated by them all and I plan to devour any and all of her future books.

Catalina is the one Reyes sister who has always resisted her Hispanic roots. She refused to learn Spanish...she refuses to fall in love. She is always in control; no man can resist her sexy appearance that promises to fulfill their every dream. What happens when she is assigned to interview a blind man who cant see her reliable attributes?

Review:
Sometimes in the world of investigative journalism you are required to do things you don’t agree with. That is the position Catalina Reyes has been put in and she is not a happy woman at all.

Catalina has always been in control of her life. Never wanting the white picket fence and the 2.5 children, she is happy being single. A consummate lover of men, she is a woman who knows what she wants and knows exactly how to get it. Unfortunately, she works for a devious tyrant of a man. Her boss has a score to settle and has no problems using Catalina’s looks and womanly wiles to achieve them. She is put in a no win situation. Take down the doctor or lose her job.

Dr. Evan Thompson is the one of the best looking men Catalina has ever set her eyes on. Tall, blond and a well sculpted body; he may just be the man for her. Problem is she has to discredit and destroy him, all while she can’t keep her mind off wanting to have him. She also respects him and believes in how he is helping people. He captivates her like no other man has ever done before.

Evan has a big problem and being blind is the least of his troubles. He is infatuated with his patient. Since the moment she walked into his office he knew there was something special about Catalina Reyes. His senses are well tuned instruments and they all screamed, "Sexy Trouble". He may not be able to see her, but he can feel the heat coming off her body, smell her alluring scent, and hear the lust in her voice. He is headed for a train wreck with no way to stop it.

The story had wonderful surprises and steamy love scenes. The situation was handled well and after a slight bump in the road, they handled themselves professionally. I enjoyed revisiting the family and was pleasantly surprised that so much time had passed since the last book. While the time span was quite large, I found it more believable then some series where the siblings / friends all fall in love, one right after the other. It was a very nice change of pace.

I have to admit I was a little weary about the subject matter of this book. It was sneaky, underhanded and deceitful. I was delightfully surprised on how Ms. McGier pulled off the storyline. Catalina had a very unsavory task ahead of her and was totally dismayed that she must complete the job, especially since she is immensely attracted to Evan. The surprises were well written and the heartbreak was poignant. Analysis of Love is another must read in the Reyes Family Romance series.

Review:
Every assistant's fantasy comes true in Crescent's Office Hours when a hot office love affair erupts between Anya King and her boss, Nathan Banks. This story gives team building weekends a whole new outlook. Forget the boring office drivel and hokey "work together plans", the weekend ahead for Anya and Nathan is anything but dull. Stuck in a snowstorm, the duo is devoured by their sexual desires and pleasures.

This is the first, but NOT the last, book of Crescent's that I've had the fortune of reading. The way she adds unexpected humor (think purple dildo, sexual squabbles and let's not forget the vibrating underwear) had me laughing for a long time after finishing the book. The flow of the story line was superb. Crescent packed a powerful punch in such a short read. I won't ruin the ending by telling it, but I highly recommend this book to all erotic romance readers of the world. Priceless story and perfection at its finest.

Sometimes your first love is the one that was meant to be.
Craig Harper and Jeremy Finn were best friends growing up. They attended the same school, spent all of their time together, and hung out with the same group of people. It wasn't until the day before Jeremy and his family moved across the country that they discovered their attraction to one another.

Fifteen years later, they reunite by chance in New York City. Both are in relationships and have established a routine in their lives. But routines and relationships are shaken as they begin to spend time together once again. Old feelings and connections are still strong and the passion that pulls them together is a powerful, soul-searing call neither man can deny.

As each deals with the issues in their own relationships, they begin to question whether the comfort of what they know is more powerful than the pull of what they could have been...and what they might become. Struggling to find the answer, only their hearts can reveal if they are meant for each other.

Review:
D.H. Starr does an astounding job telling the story of life-long best friends. His writing style entwines the reader into the story, makes the reader feel empathy and shows unconditional love and fidelity between the two men, Craig and Jeremy. From the beginning of the story, Starr had me privately rooting for the happily ever after ending. To say that Starr got me emotionally involved with the two men is an understatement.

I think men and women alike will relate to this story. First love lost. First love found. Act upon that love and face all challenges that come your way. The way Starr delves into these two men's lives was a “WOW” moment for me. The real life dialogue was heart-wrenching and the plot so believable that it seems as though I was there with the men.

I highly recommend this book and definitely look forward to future work by Starr.

Anna can’t believe how much the woman in the picture looks like her. They could be twins, except the picture was taken in 1871. Either she’s a relative, or Anna had a past life in Hamilton, Nevada. Either way, the temptation to visit the old ghost town is too much. She and her friend Kat travel west.

While off exploring on her own, Anna is knocked unconscious when she falls down the steps in the saloon. She can hardly believe her eyes when she wakes.

Beau and Zeke won the Silver Rush Saloon in a poker game and have been partners and secret lovers for over ten years. They don’t know what to make of the woman they found half-dressed in their cellar. She claims to know something terrible that’s about to happen to their town and needs their help.

Will Anna be able to win their love and trust before it’s too late?

Review:
While not one for the time travel genre, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Ms. Martine's newest release. I had fallen in love with her writing for Table for Three and was anxious to read this one. I was prepared to set aside the idea of time travel but Martine had me hooked from the moment Anna Oakland was introduced. Then when she added in Beau and Zeke, I fell in love with the book.

The way Martine explores, describes and expresses all the characters is breathtaking. Her dialogue, kept within the era it's meant to be, is flawless and remarkable. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of romance and menage. Martine weaves a fabulous tale that left me literally begging for more. The HEA ending added just the perfect touch to a very erotic menage romance. I've read numerous of Martine's previous works and she never ceases to amaze me with her writing style.

She's back, but this time she's a mother...intent on protecting her young.

Two years after her husband's death, Kate Marshall returns home seeking security and stability for her three-year-old daughter. But when her path crosses with 'the one who got away'...her husband's best friend, she has to fight the desire to be with him for the sake of further heartbreak for her and her daughter.

A tough, straight talking theatrical agent, Mark Johnston is dangerously handsome, exceedingly rich, irresistibly charming - and branded by the tabloids as one of the UK's most eligible bachelors. So even though Mark lost the girl of his dreams to his best friend, he finds no hardship in being single. Or so he thought.

Determined not to lose her a second time, Mark has to find a way to convince her they can work. But can Kate cope with the media interest and ruthless, money-hungry clients surrounding him, being anywhere near her daughter? Or accept that Mark Johnston is really the family man he claims to be?

Review:
There are many “second chances at love” stories out there in the world and many of us have lived them. In Rachel Brimble's Getting It Right This Time, she interweaves the past with the present and develops the most beautiful love story I have read in a long time. Charismatic (and rich) Mark Johnston and single, widowed mother Kate Marshall meet up years after their chance at love was stopped.

The intense dialogue and griping scenes between the two are explosive yet, at times, tender. Their love never died but now they are facing new challenges together: Kate's protectiveness of her daughter to Mark's devotion to his career. He claims he's a “family man” now, but Kate is leery and skeptical. The way Brimble collaborates the couple and their personal anguish is remarkable. I completely related to this story line and would absolutely, without a doubt recommend this book. The sensual side of Mark comes through and the sensibility from Kate is a trait many women will relate to.

Elaine Jackerson has found herself in quite a predicament. Her husband, Bob, is sleeping with his secretary, her daughter is experimenting in the backseat with random boys, and her eight year old wants nothing to do with her.

In an attempt to get herself out of her midlife rut, Elaine joins the Herschel Grammar School PTA. Little does she know, Suni Calverson, the current president has handpicked her to be the newest member of the group. As soon as the ink is dry on the signup sheet, Elaine is thrust into a world that she never knew existed. A world where the PTA gets things done with blackmail, bribes, threats and quite possibly guns.

After stumbling across her husband and his secretary humping in his office, Elaine turns to the only friends she has: Suni and her henchmen. They convince her to let them “take care” of Bob. Elaine agrees to the plan, as long as no one dies. Unfortunately for Elaine, Suni has other plans. Before Elaine can sleep off her Mojitos, her children have been kidnapped and Bob has disappeared. Afraid that Elaine will go back on her word, Suni forces her onto a plane to hide out in a posh suite in Las Vegas that belongs to the famous French landscape photographer Gerard Ilg.

Determined to get her children back and avoid jail, Elaine spends her time in Sin City vacillating between planning her escape and trying to stay out of the arms of the much younger, very hot, very Hawaiian limo driver Benjamin Oliana. Does he care for Elaine, or is she just another notch on his Billabong belt? What about her famous host who keeps encouraging her to “find her passion”? Gerard is a man of the world—a man that knows Suni. Can he be trusted? More importantly, can she sort out her feelings, take down the PTA Mafia, and go home to her children?

Review:
Three words to describe Confessions of a PTA Mafia Mom: Oh My Goodness!

The humor Elise Love displays in this full length novel is hilarious and I caught myself laughing aloud.

The Herschel Grammar School has a secret weapon when it comes to personal affairs (literally) and no one, and I mean no one, should mess with these women. Picture housewives cornering you and locking you in the gym until you give in and sign up. OY! These women are relentless and trust me, they get what they want.

Love's writing style is unbelievable, the flow of the story is to perfection and the camaraderie of the women is something all women can relate to. Love takes serious story lines (a cheating husband) and adds such humor that the reader has to envelop the entire scenario. This is a very fast paced novel and I highly recommend the book to any woman who needs a chuckle. Love makes the lead heroine, Lanie, so charming you can’t help but root for her.
